Adriana Smith

Née en Ontario, actuellement étudiante à l’Université Concordia dans le programme Intermédias/Cyberarts, Adriana Smith est une artiste qui travaille avec la vidéo et l’animation. Fascinée par les dessins animés, bandes dessinées et jeux vidéos, sa pratique explore des thèmes ludiques liés à la fascination et l’imagination de l’enfance. Ses animations présentent des couleurs vives, des personnages de dessins animés et des effets sonores répétitifs qui, ensemble, créent des présences fantasques et parfois décalées.

Born in Ontario, while currently studying at Concordia University towards a degree in the Intermedia/Cyberarts program, Adriana Smith is an artist working within the mediums of video and animation. Fascinated by cartoons, comics, and video games, her artistic practices explore themes of playfulness pertaining to childhood fascination and imagination. Through this interest her animations feature bright colours, cartoonish characters, and repetitious sound effects in which together create whimsical and sometimes offbeat presences.
