The formal and theoretical representation of the background contrasts with humorous animated forms. A ceremonial game takes place.
Artist of Quebec City, Carol-Ann Belzil-Normand graduated from Université Laval with a bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts and a bachelors’s degree in animation. She is currently pursuing her research on frivolity in multidisciplinary animation as part of a master’s degree in Visual Arts. As part of her masters, she was selected for a residency at La Bande Vidéo with the contribution of the Fonds Fondation-René-Richard. Also, she has received two grants from the Première Ovation program from Quebec City. Meanwhile, she collaborated in many multidisciplinary events that combine audio, video and performance. Her animated films have been presented at numerous festivals in Canada, Catalonia, Germany, United States, Italy and Russia among others.
