Elaine Frigon divides her time between Montreal and the Laurentians. Her works are based on reflections about society and the human condition. Identity, memory and the domestic universe are at the center of her approach, which takes shape in the form of hybrid projects where installations, photographs and videos respond to each other. In 1984, after a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, she pursued studies in Fine Arts at UQAM, UC-Davis and the San Francisco Art Institute. She currently teaches visual and media arts at the post-secondary level. Her videos have been presented in numerous festivals and conferences in Canada, Europe and South America, notably at the Video Art Festival of Camagu üey in Cuba, at the Rencontres internationales des Instants Vidéo de Marseille and at the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival, in Berlin.
