In the video Parc Lafontaine, the artist refreshes family film archives by in situ projections. This video shows a woman meditating in her bathtub and remembering being amazed as a child at the discovery of aquatic animals in the city’s zoo. The narrator relates a strange memory.
Née à Montréal, artiste multidisciplinaire et doctorante en Études et pratiques des arts à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Sa pratique artistique intègre la vidéo, l’art sonore et l’écriture. Elle s’intéresse aux notions d’ontologie entourant les films maison. Puisant dans une abondante banque d’archives cinématographiques familiales remédiatisées, sa démarche consiste à réactiver ces images par des projections in situ. En 2016, elle a présenté l’œuvre Bruits d’archives nordiques à la Bibliothèque de Bergen et participé aux Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, 34e édition, à Montréal, aux 19e Rencontres Traverse Vidéo, à Toulouse, au MUFF Montreal Underground Film Festival, au P’SILO, Image Contre Nature à Marseille, au Congrès annuel de l’Association des archivistes du Québec, au Laboratoire de recherche LLA-CREATIS, Université de Toulouse Jean-Jaurès.
Born in Montreal, multidisciplinary artist and PhD student (fine arts research and practice) at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her artistic approach mixes video, sound art and writing. She is interested by home movies and their ontology. Drawing on an extensive bank of remediated family film archives, she reactivates these images through on site projection. In 2016, she presented Noise in the Nordic Archives at the Bergen’s Public Library, she participated at the Rendez-Vous du cinéma québécois, 34th Edition, in Montreal, at the 19th Rencontres Traverse Vidéo, in Toulouse, at the MUFF Montreal Underground Film Festival, at P’SILO, Image Contre Nature 2016 in Marseille, at Congrès annuel de l’Association des archivistes du Québec, at the Laboratoire de recherche LLA-CREATIS, Université de Toulouse Jean-Jaurès.
