Inspired by Richard Hamilton’s iconic 1956 collage “Just What Is It That Makes Today’s Homes So Different, So Appealing?” this animated short about consumerism is a playful critique with a biting edge.

Sharon Katz’s domestic world takes curious, material form in her work – from needles pushing through fabric to animated pink panties, from beef and bone memento mori to the sensual bonding of a shirt collar and tie. Born and raised in Montreal, she has produced and directed six animated short films. She continues to work in narrative animation, video/sculpture hybrids, and drawing/assemblage.
